A teacher’s role is not confined in the four walls of his classroom. We are not here in the field just to teach! We are born to inspire; to take a hand, to open a mind and to touch a heart. With these said it is but fitting that we strive to be the best by equipping ourselves with guiding principles geared towards the common good- for our self, for the learners and for the other people involved in the education system. Understanding the Legal Bases of Philippine Educational System will help us become effective teachers as it is the foundation of all policies and rules concerning education. This will serve as a map of our rights, limitations duties and responsibilities for us to reach the objectives of education in general. But it should not end there; we must not only understand these guidelines but rather practice it by heart along the way for these goals to materialize. We should learn how to apply it in teaching and in addressing issues and concerns in the educational arena. We must put what we know in action and exercise our rights with caution to avoid this unfortunate incident in this news article that I have read.

Events like these are inevitable which is why we should pay careful attention and adhere to the legal bases of Philippine Education. It will safeguard us and our learners as we venture in this unpredictable world. Like what a popular tag would say “Knowledge is power” and with this power we can definitely be worthy to carry this great responsibility of touching lives and more over of saving lives. We should relentlessly pursue knowledge, develop our skills and proficiency in work and update ourselves with policies in order to do what is appropriate at all times. By following the law, we can manifest the zeal in doing the right thing with wit and sense. We must not ignore this golden ticket that we have for it is our key to fulfill our purpose, to answer our calling and to achieve our mission as one of the builders of this nation!
The way we handle our students has the potential to have a societal effect. As a result, we must exercise extreme caution in our conduct. As we have the ability to shape and reshape the world's future.

It doesn't only mean that our role is to go beyond teaching by exerting extra effort for our students but it also entails the responsibility of aware of the legal bases of education.
